TV: 24: Finale

Ok, so it's been a long time. I've been busy. Sue me. Besides, it's not like anybody but me reads this anyway! :) So, 24 is over. Jack walks away into the sunset as a man without an identity after faking his death to avoid prosecution by the Chinese. The nuclear missile that had been the main subject for several episodes is anticlimactically (is that a word??) found and shot down in a matter of 5 minutes. Woohoo.

Cheesy tech jargon of the day: "expanding the parameters of the correlation matrix". In reality there is such a thing as a correlation matrix, but it has nothing to do with encrypted code. It's used for finding correlations (duh) between fields of data when doing data mining. For example, if you have 10,000 rows with columns x, y and z, a correlation matrix might tell you that x and y are correlated (as x rises, y also rises and vice versa). Oh, and correlation matrices don't take parameters. Whew, I'm glad I blew that one wide open. And you learned some math today.
